End of semester blues? You know I got you covered!

To start this much needed post, I have to get into the type of semester I have been facing. This semester has been anything but relaxing. I have had the most projects in this last semester than I've had in my entire college career combined. I'm talking the most filming I've ever done and don't get me wrong at times it was fun but now it's just full on stress. This semester has taught me to take time out when needed because there will always be something that needs to be done.

At times I don’t typically follow the philosophy of taking time out for myself but today is different.

At Valdosta State we weren’t given a spring break, instead we got random days throughout the semester that they like to refer to as “wellness days”. We are currently on our 4th one and this is the first time that I’m actually using it to relax and have fun. I graduate in less than a month so while I’m down here I might as well make it the best.

If you have reached this burnout stage in this semester I have a few suggestions that may turn your end of semester blues into end of semester highs.

1. Exercise

Being able to get some physical activity in can change your entire mood! When I get the opportunity to workout I feel relieved and accomplished. Being able to feel a transformation from the inside out can be oddly satisfying.

2. Travel

Though we are in a pandemic my friends and I like to go places with each other just to get out of Valdosta. A change of environment can make a huge difference. Being on campus all of the time makes me feel like I am in jail honestly. So when given the opportunity to get out I am all for it.

3. Try something new

Hobby, Food, Tv show... it honestly does not matter. We tend to put off things in hopes that we have time later but what better time to pick up something new than right now?

4. Sleep

As a college student I can say that this is one concept that is foreign to us. If you have time PLEASE engage properly because this will be the best nap of your life.

5. RELAX

I can not stress this enough, if you have a free day please take that day for yourself because you won't get many. How ever you do this, do that. Rather it's shopping, reading or drinking tea. JUST DO IT.

That's all the advice I have, I hope you decide to take up on of the five much needed activities.
